What final adjustments are you making to the materials you have created already and why?
During this week, I made several updates to the Visual System Guide's Graphics Elements section, incorporating feedback from stakeholders. To illustrate the use of graphics, I added combinations of geometric shapes. Additionally, I made some adjustments to the fonts and typography of each ad for Deliverable 4's motion graphics ads. For the app and web components, I refined the clickable prototype and incorporated number tracking into the matching quiz, as the feedback received. Finally, I created mockups for the app and web components.
How is your user testing progress so far?
This week I completed a prototype test with a participant. The other two testers were unable to participate this week due to personal reasons, so I scheduled the test for the next week. I will have all the tests done next week.
Does the idea of affordances resonate with you? How might you apply it to your materials?
As a design student and someone interested in user experience, I recently came across the concept of affordance, which refers to the perceived or actual properties of an object that determine how it can be used. This article provided valuable insights into the importance of considering users' perceptions and cultural context when designing products and interfaces. It was a reminder that even seemingly everyday objects can have hidden functions that we may not be aware of. For my project, I need to pay close attention to ensure that the functions, buttons, and actions I provide to the user can be effectively executed, taking into account the user's perspective and cultural background.
What are the most useful and interesting things you have learned this module?
This week, I conducted tests with one participant, and I received a lot of helpful feedback that will be valuable for improving the product. Next week, I am excited to continue testing with the remaining two participants and gathering their feedback. Once all the testing is completed, I will collect and collate all the feedback and test results to identify any patterns and insights that will guide the next steps of development.
